If you are not living in Panama City already, and/ or you have never been to the Republic of Panama before, you may be asking yourself why invest in Panama City?  Once you have been here, you really no longer need an answer that question.   It becomes extremely obvious why Panama is one of the top 5 retirement destinations in the world, why more and more investors and business people are choosing this area to build and protect their wealth, and tourism is growing, even in this global recession.

When your plane first sets down at Tucuman Airport, you are stepping into a new and exciting world, but yet one that seems strangely familiar.  Although Spanish is the official language and the language you will most likely run into, English is widely spoken as well.  With a little Spanish knowledge, or a Spanish / English dictionary, you will do fine.

Once you arrive in Panama City, you are sure to be impressed.  This city is a thriving metrolitan area, complete with massive skyscrapers and a skyline that is reminiscent of Miami.  This is a city, where you can find anything, from shopping to dining, from nightlife to parks, and everything in between.

One of the most impressive things about Panama, at least for most foreign investors, is the first world Infrastructure.  The city is full of international banks, excellent telecommunications, and strong business environment.  We have excellent, world class healthcare, with many English speaking doctors who were trained in the US.  John Hopkins is running the biggest hospital in Panama, in Punta Pacifica.

You will also enjoy the fact that Panama uses the US dollar as currency, eliminating exchange hassles for US visitors.  Because of this US dollar economy and the fact that Panama is so close, only a couple hour plane flight with many direct flights from the US, Canada and Europe, having a second home, retirement home or investment property here is very accessible. 

While in Panama City, be sure to checkout Casco Viejo, which is the second "old" city, a Spanish / French Colonial city that is being rehabilitated, but still retains the old architecture.  Other areas of interest are Amador, Metropolitan Park, several malls, exciting restaurants, exciting nightlife and Casinos.  Wednesday night is cheap night at the movies, only $2.00 per person and excellent seating.

Panama City is so many things, it is exotic yet familiar, inexpensive yet loaded with first class amenities, close first class beaches and eco-tourism, safe and tourist friendly.  All these factors and so many more have combined to build a strong and growing economy, strong tourist growth, and powerful investment opportunities.
